Absences and Vacation Policy
When children are absent 60 percent or more of their reserved weekly schedule, a 50% refund will be given for the absent days. For example, if you have reserved 5 full days per week and are absent 3 days (60 percent of 5) or more, you will receive a 50% refund for the absent days. Absences of less than 60 percent do not qualify for a refund.

Holidays
Children's Discovery will be closed for the following six holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Full tuition is charged for the above holiday weeks.

Infant Program
Due to the licensing regulations of staffing our Infant Program, refunds will not be given for the days your infant is absent. Make-up days for absences, due to illness or holidays, are not allowed.

Breakfast
Breakfast is available on an optional basis at $1.00 each day. Our breakfasts are prepared for a predetermined number of children. For this reason, if you sign your child up for breakfast, there will be no refunds given for breakfast on days your child is not in attendance.

Lunch and Snacks
Lunches and snacks are provided at no additional cost and are served to all children in attendance.

Tuition Payment
All fees are due for the current week on the first day of attendance each week. Electronic Transfer Service is available for the families interested in having payments automatically withdrawn from their bank account on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Note: There will be a $25.00 charge for each returned check.

Late Payment
All weekly fees are due the first day of each week your child attends Children’s Discovery. A $5.00 Late Payment Service Fee will be added to your payment if not turned in on time.

Late Pick-up
Children's Discovery closes at 6:15 P.M. Monday through Friday. Parents will be charged a late fee of $10.00 per child for every 15 minute period (or fraction thereof) that a child is cared for beyond closing time. This charge is payable immediately and serves as a direct reimbursement for employees working overtime.

Field Trips
Fully supervised, educational trips are planned to places of interest for children. Children’s Discovery will provide the same adequate, responsible supervision for these excursions as is provided to the children while in attendance at Children's Discovery. Bus services will be arranged through a qualified company. You are responsible to sign a field trip permission slip which explains the destination, reason for field trip, cost, and time for each field trip taken. If you do not choose to have your child attend a particular field trip, you are obligated to find alternate care and no refund will be given. Field trip costs vary. Please call for more information.

Inclement Weather
Children’s Discovery Academy is committed to being open for our families even during adverse weather conditions. The only time we will close is in the event of blizzard conditions which are intense enough to close down the entire city including the University of Minnesota. Listen to WCCO radio to hear announcements of this type. Full tuition is charged for these days.
