What our Program
Offers
American Sign Language will promote language
development in your son/daughter. Teachers will sign to your toddler while
saying the word out loud.
Language Development is encouraged through books, puppets,
finger plays and songs. Your child's teachers will help your
son/daughter find the correct words when identifying items or trying to
communicate thoughts and feelings.
A Daily Schedule that is structured, academically
focused and fun! Weekly lessons and activities focus on a curriculum
rich in reading, math, science, art, music, sensory, dramatic play and
imaginative play.
Star of the Week - Your toddler will become the
classroom's star of the week encouraging positive self-esteem.
He/she will bring in items from home to share and introduce to the
classroom. This is a great way to give your son/daughter lots of
positive praise.
Toys and Activities that are developmentally appropriate for
your child & encourage building, painting, coloring, laughing, problem
solving, singing, dancing, exploring...LEARNING!
Social Development - Your toddler is becoming a very
social being. He/she is recognizing classmates, playing with other
children and building friendships. Your son/daughter is beginning to
learn the need for manners such as sitting at the table, using a spoon
and keeping food on his/her plate.
Emotional Development - Becoming more independent and wanting
to do everything on his/her own is expected behavior from your toddler.
Teachers introduce self-help skills that will help build your child's
self-esteem. Positive relationships with teachers develop a sense of trust in the world.
Small Motor Development - Your toddler
will spend time learning through building blocks, sorting beads, coloring with
crayons, painting, play dough and simple art projects. Pouring and
sifting through sand and water using toys also strengthen small
motor development. He/she will continue to eat with a spoon and drink
from an open cup.
Large Motor Development
- Your toddler will enjoy recess twice daily outside on our playground or inside
in our gym. Activities will include riding toys, climbing, sliding,
throwing balls, kicking balls, climbing steps, etc.
Parent Testimonials
"We decided to bring my son to Children's Discovery because it felt as
the "right place" safe, educational-oriented, clean and warm. My husband
and I are very happy with our son's development while attending
Children's Discovery. We truly believe that our expectations as first
time parents, concerned about their only son's safety, educational
development and child well being, has been met by the caring staff at
Children's Discovery."
